Called to say someone is trying to make a $349.99 purchase on my Amazon account using my attached card. Caller says they noticed suspicious activity in my account and put hold on transactions. I am advised to call 949-284-8076 or Press 1 to report this transaction or to press 2 to authorize the order. Scam call that came from a completely different number with an Ohio area code.

Received the same message to call 949-284-8076 on February 19, 2021. The strange thing is that I had recently opened an Amazon account for first time so the timing seems especially suspect. Or just a weird coincidence? I did not call back. They used the same “$349.99” charge amount in the message.
