I just called the number, they said my computer was purchased with the free software, so now it needs to be paid for or removed! He would help me and get my refund of $299.00. ( They sent the E-mail, they ask for an invoice number which has your E-mail info, so it sounds like they know who you are, but they don't! So I played the game and started asking him questions. What computer am I using? When was it purchased? What is my Microsoft account number? How's the weather and temp in Cupertino California? He hung up.

Got an email from an email address that isn't a legit Microsoft address saying I was charged $299.99. This scam lets them into your computer, and then they say they will refund the 300 bucks and show you on a fake bank statement that they accidentally deposited $30,000 in your account and want you to send them a check or cash so they don't get fired. These jerks prey on naïve senior citizens for the most part. Go ahead and call them and waste their time if it amuses you, but don't give them access to your computer or send them money. THIEVES!!!
