my dad received call from 800-717-7535 said company name was David & Edwards out of California and the he owes 4000. I called to get the information because they said they were going to put lien on his house. Trying to find out if this is a scam?

I received the same call from Edwards and Edwards telling me that I took out a credit card and that I owe lots of money on it they wouldn't tell me how much I owe them they told me they were going to take put a lien on my properties that I had documents I told them to send me the documents and let me look them up and let me take them to my lawyer she didn't refuse to send me the documents I asked her that there's no way that I would took out a credit card on a fixed income and I don't do credit cards I don't take them out I don't do them. So she hung up on me now I believe this is a scam or my information is just got compromised

It's a scam they said I owed 3000.00 and its a credit card and could not tell my from where said I had to wait from the company reply. Told me that they sent a letter. And I got it in 2020 there no way I did that. So I pulled criedt report and it was not on there and I told her that she got angry with me lol and she told me that they was going to put a lein on my car i said go for it they just repoed my car because of the pandemic. I lost my job so do what ever and then I said I recorded the whole phone call she got mad and hung up
