The scammer called in response to a Cragslist item I have for sale. He said he wanted to mail me a check and then arrange for "moving" the item - a strange term for something that fits in a small box. Anyway, the next step was he mailed me from California a cashier's check supposedly issued in Texas and requests that I text my full name and check # to phone 270-220-5802. This check was for a face value more than 10 times the amount of the Craigslist item. I refused the check.

I got scammed by a guy using this phone number. We were selling a large item on Craisglist for $500. A guy emailed us and said he wanted the item. He said he was sending us a cashiers check for $2000 to cover the item plus the expense of paying the movers who were supposed to pick up the item. He overnighted us a cashiers check for $2000. A FedEx guy delivered the check. I checked the Name of the bank to see if it was a real bank and it was. So then I deposited the check electronically from my cell phone. Then I called the bank to make sure the funds were in my account. And they were. So I assumed that the check was legit. Then the guys texted me and said he wanted me to pay the movers $1480 via Cash App so they could come pick up the item. So we sent the $1480 via Cash app to a cash tag $DarlaMotley. The movers were supposed to come the next morning but never showed up. We tried to call the guy at 270-220-5802 when the movers didn't show up, but he never responded to any of our
