called about a job in finance - knew my full name and knew my laptop was on nearby which could have been a coincidence but still creepy. Would not let me hang up and was getting more and more aggravated as I tried to politely end the conversation.

Scammer on steroids. If you want to have some fun speak gibberish (or better still a language that's not of this earth). Only do this if you're bored. Go up the food chain, if need be (speak to the senior financials guy). Then tell 'em a joke or two or three, all bizarre -- none have to make sense.
